A custom index here is a sum: pick any set of tickers, add them with +, and the platform charts the combined market capitalization as one line instead of a dozen.
The second step is the one that changes what you can ask. A basket can be used as the numerator or the denominator of a ratio, so a sector can be charted against Bitcoin, against gold or against another sector rather than only against the dollar.

How composition works
A basket charted in dollars moves for two reasons at once: what the assets did, and what the dollar did. Dividing the basket by a reference asset removes the second reason. An AI-sector basket divided by the total crypto market answers whether the sector is gaining share; the same basket in dollars only tells you whether crypto went up. Composition and division are the two halves of the same question, and a tool that offers one without the other answers half of it.
Method and data
This page carries no chart image, and the omission is deliberate. Composed indexes are evaluated when you open them, from the definitions listed above — they are not stored as a fixed series that could be rendered here. Summing the components by hand to produce a picture would publish a basket of our own making under the product's name, so the page sends you to the tool instead.
The index names, their asset counts and which of them are free were read from OmniaChart's published index catalog when this page was built, not typed in by hand.
